Every Mandalorian needs a base of operations, we would like to see your idea of the perfect secret base from where you would work to become the number one bounty hunter in the galaxy!

Challenge:
Base of Operations

Novice:
Draw a photo of the best secret base you or any mandalorian could ever want.  Submit photo of your drawing to shriekhawk@verdikacorps.com

Journeyman:
Using whatever medium you like, Lego’s, Clay, Sticks, etc, build a model of the perfect base for your mandalorian character to work from.  Submit photo of your base model to shriekhawk@verdikacorps.com

Expert:
Draw a photo of your secret base (same as Novice), create a model of it (same as Journeyman), and write a short description of how your base is set up. What are its defenses? Where do you park your ship?  Weapons?  Submit photo of your base model to shriekhawk@verdikacorps.com

Send what level you completed (Novice, Journeyman, or Expert) to shriekhawk@verdikacorps.com and remember to include your Verd’ika Mandalorian Name for credit.

September: Language

September – Language

Secret codes are used to protect important information by allowing only those with the key to translate the code.  This can be important to keep information private from others you do not want to see your message.  Secret base locations, military strategies, communication with friends, or confidential documents.

Challenge:
Secret Codes

Novice:
Using the below image create a secret code using of your choice and translate the example code above.

Journeyman:
Using your secret key from the Novice challenge create a sentence in your code.  Write a secret message to give to a friend and/or parent to have them decipher your message with your key.

Expert:
Make a new complex code key using different emojis, shapes, animals, mando’a, aurebesh, or other symbols of your choice to create your new key.  Write a secret message to give to a friend and/or parent to have them decipher your message with your key.

August: Armory

It’s very important to know where you are with your armor, by knowing where you’re starting from you can proceed with a solid foundation.

Challenge:
The Armor is the Basics

Novice:
It’s a new year and a new Shriekhawk Battalion. With your parents help take a new photo of your current Mandalorian inspired Armor.

Journeyman:
It’s a new year and a new Shriekhawk Battalion. With your parents help take a new photo of your current Mandalorian inspired Armor with one updated item.

Expert:
It’s a new year and a new Shriekhawk Battalion. With your parents help take a new photo of your current Mandalorian inspired Armor with two or more updated items.

July: Friends

July – Friends

Sometimes even the best bounty hunters need help, include a friend in your costuming and encourage them to get involved as well because everything is better with friends.

Challenge:
Comrades

Novice:
Create a mandalorian helmet out of paper or cardboard with a friend.

Journeyman:
With help from a parent assist a friend in making a set of Mandalorian armor and encourage them to join the Verd’ika Corps, because everything is better with friends.

Expert:
Find two or more friends who would like to make a set of Mandalorian armor and help them build it with parent supervision, and encourage them to join the Verd’ika Corps, because everything is better with friends.

June: Sports / Outdoor Activity

June – Sports / Outdoor Activity

Staying heathy is an important part of being able to fulfill your duties to the clan – a Mandalorian has to be ready for battle at all times! As a Mandalorian also relies on the teamwork and support of their clan, it’s equally important to make sure your family and clan mates are staying healthy as well! As the Mandalorian saying goes: “You are only as strong as the warrior standing next to you”.

Challenge:
Staying heathy is an important part of being able to fulfill your duties to the clan! A Mandalorian has to be ready for battle at all times!

Novice:
Pick a physical activity to perform outdoors. For example, you can go for a walk with your family, practice a sport, or go on a short hike. Send a message explain what activity you chose to shriekhawk@verdikacorps.com

Journeyman:
Work together with the members of your clan/family to participate in an outdoor activity with another person (or multiple people!). For example, playing catch, passing a ball around, or playing a game of tag! Send a message explain what activity you chose to shriekhawk@verdikacorps.com

Expert:
What sort of activities do you think would be important for a Mandalorian to do to be ready for their next adventure? Send a message to shriekhawk@verdikacorps.com, explaining which activities you think a Mandalorian would do in their free time to stay fit.

May the Fourth Be With You! This month we celebrate Star Wars, what is your favorite part of the Star wars universe?  Is it the books, the movies, the shows, or maybe the toys?

Challenge:
Everything Star Wars

Novice:
What makes Star Wars your favorite?  Draw a photo to let us know which one is your favorite.

Journeyman:
What makes Star Wars your favorite?  Draw a photo and write a small letter to let us know which one is your favorite.

Expert:
What makes Star Wars your favorite?  Share your favorite part of Star Wars with a friend then write a letter and tell us about the experience.

This month’s mission focuses on your favorite Star Wars book.  What is your all-time favorite Star Wars book to read?  Libraries are great places to find all the information in your galaxy and the galaxy far away.

Travel to your local Library with an adult and check it out.  Send a photo or short description of your book to shriekhawk@verdikacorps.com

Journeyman:
Travel to your local Library with an adult and check it out.  Send a short report on what your book was about to shriekhawk@verdikacorps.com

Expert:
Travel to your local Library with an adult and check it out.  After you finish write your own short story and send it to shriekhawk@verdikacorps.com

March: Farming

March – Farming

Mandalorians are a self-sufficient people maintaining farms to grow crops for themselves, families, and clan.  Involving Verd’ika in farm chores can help them grow with development of good character and life long skills to help throughout their lives.  Feeding, watering, cleaning, grooming, building, fixing, growing, and yes even animal dung clean up are important in the production of food to feed everyone.

Challenge:
Grow a plant.

Novice:
Put seeds in a sealable plastic bag in a damp paper towel and put in a place with sunlight like a windowsill.  Within a few days you will see seed germinating into sprouts.

Journeyman:
Transfer seedling sprouts from Novice to pot with soil.  Wet soil before planting.  Carefully pick up sprouts to not break the stem or roots.  Make a hole in the soil and plant your seedling with the roots in the soil.  Gently cover the seedling with soil.  Water and provide sidelight.

Expert:
This expert part will extend into the next month or two.  When your plant whether that be a vegetable or flower is ready for harvest be sure to keep a few seeds for next year.  Show off what you grew!

February: Starship

February – Starship

You can’t let yourself be stranded while chasing down a bounty.

Challenge:
Maintain Your Spaceship

Novice:
Draw a photo of the spaceship you would want to use to chase down your targets.

Journeyman:
Craft a model using Legos, clay, or any other building material you like to use, of the spaceship you would want to use to chase down your targets.

Expert:
Draw out your spaceship diagram and then build out of Legos, clay, or other building materials of your spaceship.  Submit both a photo of your spaceship diagram drawing and a photo of your model you made to see how close you were able to create.

January – Cuisine

On long hunts, knowing how to spice and season food can make the long days get better.  Mandalorians must know how to prepare their own food. Warriors from the Mando home-world are famous for loving spicy & seasoned food!

Challenge:
Prepare a meal

Novice:
With the help of a parent, prepare a meal for yourself. It should consist of a main item. This may be a cold (from the refrigerator) or warm (oven, stove-top, or microwave) meal.

Journeyman:
With the help of a parent, prepare a meal for yourself.  It should consist of a main item and at least one side item. This may be a cold (from the refrigerator) or warm (oven, stove-top, or microwave) meal.

Expert:
With the help of a parent, plan, purchase the ingredients for, and prepare a meal for yourself and your family. It should consist of a main item, at least one side item, and a beverage. This may be a cold (from the refrigerator) or warm (oven, stove-top, or microwave) meal.
